The traditional taste of Churrasco Villa originated in Portugal in the 1960’s, in “Pensao Duarte” a family restaurant in the small Portuguese village of Agueda de Baixo.
This mid-country region of Portugal serves this popular cuisine in many establishments.
In the 1970’s, the Duarte family established the first natural wood charcoal Portuguese “Churrasqueira” of its kind in Toronto cultural neighborhood of Dundas and Ossignton.
For over two decades, patrons throughout the city enjoyed the delicious flavor of their Portuguese Churrasco cuisine.
1n 1999, George and Sandy Duarte opened Churrasco Villa at Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton to continue with the tradition of Toronto’s Best Churrasco.
